DRIVING TIPS FOR YOUR ‘BALIK KAMPUNG’

Observe safe driving tips for your ‘Balik Kampung’ this festive season:-

* Plan your journey- Identify the route and interchanges that you want to take as well as the rest areas for rest stops. Use a map to plan your journey.

* Have adequate rest- Rest sufficiently during the day if you wish to travel by night.- Avoid driving during late night and early morning hours, which are the body’s natural sleep times.

* Inspect your vehicle thoroughly before embarking on your journey.* Make sure your spare tyre is well inflated.

* Send your vehicle for service.

* Leave early

* Buckle up

* Observe the speed limit.

*Allow a safe distance from the vehicle in front.- Keep a safe distance between you and the car in front so you have a bit of extra space should there be an emergency stop. The safe distance for a vehicle traveling at 110 km/h is 30 meters (6 vehicles), 25 meters (5 vehicles) for a vehicle traveling at 100 km/h and 20 meters (4 vehicles) for a vehicle traveling at 90 km/h.

* Take regular breaks. Stop every two hours to rest and stretch.- Driving continuously for two hours can make you feel fired and drowsy.- Share your driving. Switch drivers about every two hours even if you don’t feel tired.

* Give your fullest concentration while driving.

Ku Li's statement about Pak Lah..

“I think I speak for the country when I say we are embarrassed at the sight of two grown men playing this endless children’s game of yours and mine with the most important job in the country, oblivious of the law, oblivious to the damage they are doing to the country,” he said.
Instead of a national economic plan or any kind of reform, what the Umno leadership has given us since March 8 is a “transition plan,” designed to save two individuals from facing their party election, Tengku Razaleigh said.
He said deferring the party election would prolong political uncertainty in the country and give the Opposition more avenues to unsettle the Govern-ment.
The former finance minister has called for more attention to be devoted to handling the emer-ging signs of a global financial crisis.

melamine???what's THAT?

Melamine: 86 lagi produk disita
25/09/2008 6:55pm

PUTRAJAYA 25 Sept. – Sebanyak 86 lagi produk makanan di seluruh negara disita hari ini kerana disyaki tercemar dengan melamine setelah 53 produk disita semalam, kata Ketua Pengarah Kesihatan, Tan Sri Dr. Mohd. Ismail Merican.

Usman Awang
Ke Makam Bonda
Kami mengunjungi pusara bonda
Sunyi pagi disinari suria
Wangi berseri puspa kemboja
menyambut kami mewakili bonda
Tegak kami di makam sepi
Lalang-lalang tinggi berdiri
Dua nisan terkapar mati
Hanya papan dimakan bumi
Dalam kenangan kami melihat
Mesra kasih bonda
lena dalam rahap
Dua tangan kaku berdakap
bonda bersih lesu
Pernah dulu mengucupi dahiku
Kini kurasakan kasihnya lagi
Meski jauh dibatasi bumi
Nisan batu kami tegakkan
Tiada lagi lalang memanjang
Ada doa kami pohonkan
Air mawar kami siramkan
Senyum kemboja mengantar kami
Meninggalkan makam sepi sendiri
Damailah bonda dalam pengabadian
Insan kerdil mengadap Tuhan
Begitu bakti kami berikan
Tiada sama bonda melahirkan
Kasih bonda tiada sempadan
Kemuncak murni kemuliaan

SPECIAL TRIBUTE TO MR FAIZAL..

it's soo frustrating when someone tries to act as if he knows everythng about car manufacturing.. to some, the future is only now.. they cant appreciate or visionize about the future...say 20 years from now.. at tht time, what would the global oil price will be at? usd1000 per barrel? IF there is still any left, to be used.. thank god there are companies like japanese's giant car manufacturers who took the leap to be the 'savior' of mandkind in the future..

wheather u guys realize it or not, there is a strong shift in the direction of all the car manufacturer of the worlds..if u visit any of the big motorshow like the in Detroit, USA, the emphasize of these car manufacturers are no longer on developing faster car but rather on producing more efficience, more eco car gitu...

take thailand for example..their govt gives a lot of incentives to car manufacturer to develop the bio engine..as the result, they are now called the Detriot of Asia..they are already using euro3 ok!..msia??? euro 1 pon idak..siannn... we are sooo selfish damaging our own environment and what is more appauling is that there are people supporting it!

to mr faizal, go and get this book..and try to appreciate its context..without prejudise..TQ

my 11th. RAMADHAN BuKa Puasa...

the culprit..
the crowd was pretending to enjoy those tasteless food..

i takde mood nak snap the pict of any of the food selection..
my department held a buka puasa event wth our govt clients in supposed to be,one of the leading hotel in sunway area.. ( katenye...walopon..)..too bad due to poor planning of the person in charged, who arranges the whole event for us, the turn up by the high ranking govt authorities were not soo encouraging.. :( no pengarah, no tmbalan ketua pengarah, no director etc etc from either MOT, MOF, JPJ etc etc ..

but what startled me the most was the food! hello!!! thank God i DONT hv to pay for the supposed to be 100++ per pax ramadhan buffet.. the food was tasteless, the selections was not very generous, the ramadhan counters had very limited choice! gosshhh... and i need to endure another buka puasa event at the same place wth our corp client TOMORROW!... hammpeh nye hotel..
morale of the story: watch 4 wht u pay..

CAR'S REPUTATION..

the 1st generation of toyota corolla..
current generation of toyota corolla or better known locally as Altis..

A blogger by the name of Faizal condemned umwt for the afford of bringing in a model,Prius, he keeps saying as an old model,to local market soon..

Well..does he knows anything about product life cycle and reputation???

Lately the marketing types of the world have been calling it "brand equity," but in the real world it's always been plain old reputation.

Carmakers don't get a good reputation just by showing up, they develop one over years by delivering either great or lousy products and treating customers right. Great word of mouth is a manufacturer's best asset, while a lousy rep is almost impossible to overcome.

No manufacturer is better known for building stalwart, reliable cars than Toyota. And let me use TOYOTA COROLLA as our study case subject... Just about everyone seems to have a Corolla in their past.

Perhaps it was the first new car you bought with just 60 easy payments, or the car your grandmother drove when she decided to simplify her life in retirement. Corollas have been practically ubiquitous and never terribly exciting.

Except for the Land Cruiser, the Corolla name is the oldest in Toyota's current inventory of products. It's also the first car Toyota made in America. And with over 30 million Corollas sold worldwide, it's the most popular car line in history...

so now u understand why toyota still uses the same brand name and not keeps changing it for every new model tht they introduce to the market??? otherwise by now, toyota would have hundreds of model's name under their belt..
