since i am planning to visit melaka in dec this year wth my friend shahrul, i googled about it and stumbled upon many interesting facts about this historic city..and i would love to share it with u guys..

pict yg kt atas tu is the relative size of laksamana cheng ho punya kapal..as compared to chistopher colombus..besar kan? uncle christopher nye yg kecik tu je yer...hahaha!!!and the great Cheng Ho traveled around the world 80 years bfore uncle chistopher did okhey!..

"Columbus sailed to America in St. Maria (eighty-five feet) in 1492. Zheng He sailed from China to many places throughout South Pacific, Indian Ocean, Taiwan, Persian Gulf and distant Africa in seven epic voyages from 1405 to 1433 , some 80 years before Columbus's voyages.During these epic voyages, Zheng He visited the Sultanate of Melaka (Malacca). Zheng He flag "treasure ship" is four hundred feet long - much larger than Columbus's."

Zheng He's Tomb

Zheng He (1371-1435), or Cheng Ho, is arguably China's most famous navigator. Starting from the beginning of the 15th Century, he traveled to the West seven times. For 28 years, he traveled more than 50,000km and visited over 30 countries, including Melaka (Malacca). Zheng He died in the tenth year of the reign of the Ming emperor Xuande (1435) and was buried in the southern outskirts of Bull's Head Hill (Niushou) in Nanjing.
In 1985, during the 580th anniversary of Zheng He's voyage, his tomb was restored. The new tomb was built on the site of the original tomb in Nanjing and reconstructed according to the customs of Islamic teachings, as Zheng He was a Muslim.
At the entrance to the tomb is a Ming-style structure, which houses the memorial hall. Inside are paintings of the man himself and his navigation maps. To get to the tomb, there are newly laid stone platforms and steps. The stairway consists of 28 stone steps divided into four sections with each section having seven steps. This represents Zheng He's seven journeys to the West. The Arabic words "Allah (God) is great" are inscribed on top of the tomb.

now we know kan??? :P

yes sayang! not many ppl were aware tt Zheng He was a muslim!

and similarly, not many people are aware that Zheng He was a eunuch too! back in those days, if a man wanted to serve the King, he had to be under hte knife to have his penis removed! (most of the Chinese will tell you Zheng He was a eunuch!)

the Zheng family (where i belong to) my chinese surname is Zheng too and Zheng chinese believes that started off from a common forefather!

Zheng He takde misai! he did not have the relevant part of the body to produce testerone hormone that will stimulate facial hair!

ada pun cuma lekat pada muka jer! not ori, beb!

but i m definitely proud of Zheng He! ( my forefather wei!) somewhere in the line, its guaranteed that we are related! (tapi i m proud not bcoz Zheng He was my forefather but i m proud coz I can tell Christopher Berambus!

that is hte uniqueness of Chinese culture.
